January 15, 2011 Hospitality Center for Chinese
Outreach Level: Easy
Location: University of Minnesota Campus, St Paul
Target Focus: Cook and/or serve and clean up after the meal
Friendship Dinner
Currently, the U of M has the most Chinese students out of any other North American university. Most of these individuals come from China and it is the desire of the Hospitality Center to provide a welcoming environment for them as they face the challenges, changes, and complexities of their new setting in the United States. It is an important place of friendship, understanding, and Christian witness. HCC is designed to share Christ’s love through hospitality. All of their programs and services build meaningful relationships and bridges between the U.S. and China.
Hosanna! is signed up to co-host the January Friendship Dinner with North Heights Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 15, at 6:00-8:00 pm. The meal will take place at the China Place Building, 1407 Cleveland Ave. N. in St. Paul. It is a monthly meal that is hosted by different churches. It is a great time for the Chinese students and families to interact with Americans and practice their English, although many speak fluently.
We are looking for:
- 20 adults from 3:00-9:30 pm. to transport the prepared food to St. Paul, serve it, visit with guests, and clean up the meal. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together.
- Many others to prepare food and bring to Hosanna! before 3:00 pm that day.

Incorporating your faith...
Into your work and daily life
- Envision you life spheres as a natural platform to represent Jesus Christ
- Equip you to be stronger representatives where ever you are daily
- Commission you to impact the Kingdom through your work life & daily activities
There are thousands, maybe millions of believers today who don't know how to go about being an active Christian at work or in their neighborhood. They may get inspired on Sunday, but they're lost on how to live out their faith from Monday to Saturday. Look for future opportunities to learn more!
MAESTRO - Work Life Ministry Web Site
The Hosanna! Work Life Ministry web site will provide practical ideas on how a Christian can pursue life's three vital relationships while on the job: a relationship with God, with other Christians, and with non-believers. And surprisingly, it's not as hard as we think!
